Inspiration is a huge part of the creative process.  Here at Nilorn, we devote as much of our time and effort as we can to it to seek out and develop new ideas. Recently some of our design team travelled to the bright lights of New York City, USA for their latest inspiration trip – a true fashion capital!

Throughout the week long trip our designers visited as much as they could – ranging from small artist flea markets selling locally made goods, to high-street and designer shops – including some flagship stores. They also spent time exploring independent art galleries showcasing both local and international artists’ work in a variety of mediums.

The area of Soho and Nolita had the juxtaposition of high street brands alongside plenty of smaller independent stores tucked in between selling a variety of cool, individual pieces and often in quirky settings or layouts. A visit to Williamsburg, Brooklyn slowed everything down, taking a step back from the fast pace of the city and it had a much more relaxed atmosphere.  Here there were plenty of unique street art pieces on offer and an abundance of ‘hipster’ style shops selling vintage and vintage-styled products.

A week spent exploring the city allowed our creative team to soak up a wealth of inspiration and experience plenty that it had to offer. But the city is so vast you could see something different every time you visit.
