LCOA GRADUATE FASHION SHOW BLOG HEADER

This time last year, some of our designers attended Leeds College of Art’s spectacular BA (Hons) end of year fashion show. Once again, our creative team were kindly invited to attend this annual event on 21st June 2016.

This years’ show took place at a new venue – the Leeds Corn Exchange –  a Victorian Grade 1 listed building, based in the City Centre. Well known in the local area for its dramatic domed roof, the interesting architectural features provided the perfect backdrop for the runway.

The Graduate Fashion Show showcased work from over 30 students and there was a wide range of individual styles on offer.  Fashion Communication students displayed an exhibition of their work while the Fashion Design students demonstrated their work on the catwalk.  The collections included; menswear, womenswear, unisex and even childrenswear.  Festival tents were reimagined as garments and strong, structured tailoring was exhibited in contrast to much more casual 90s inspired designs.

It was an inspiring evening with a diverse range of styles, fabrics and colour schemes – well done to all the students involved.
