On 9th June 2015, some of our designers were invited to attend the Leeds College of Art BA (Hons) Fashion Graduate Show. The show took place at Canal Mills in Leeds, an 18th Century textile mill refurbished as a unique space to accommodate a range of events and exhibitions. The old beams, concrete floors and exposed brickwork were the perfect setting for an evening of fashion.
The show entitled ’47’ showcased the work of forty seven students in a curated exhibition and catwalk show. Each collection of garments had a different look and feel and there was definitely a mix of individual styles on show. Some looks were striking with neon and bright colours while others were more subtle and understated. Inspired tailoring and layered looks were plentiful, demonstrating some unusual shapes, such as high structured collars.
All in all an inspiring evening with an eclectic mix of styles, fabrics and designs – well done to the students involved.
